The challenge was the client’s request that the residence be designed on a single level. A large central courtyard with living, dormitory and recreational wings set around it allows cross flow ventilation and natural light into all spaces. The wings also create various external spaces around the residence. Twisted butterfly rooves over the central living areas surrounded by flat rooves over the secondary spaces sets up a hierarchy of forms with dynamic internal living areas.
