2012-2015, Alterations & additions

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This substantial renovation retained the front 2 bedrooms of the original Californian bungalow house and added a new 2 storey extension to the rear including kitchen, dining, living, guest bathroom and laundry plus a pool, spa and cabana on the ground level. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms both with ensuites, study and additional living area.

From the street the house retains most of its original character to sit comfortably with its neighbours while the rear has a contemporary feel with limestone tiles and timber veneer finishes. Sandstone walls link both the old and new together. The plan wraps around the north facing pool so all rooms in the new area receive northern sun providing both light and natural heating during the winter months. External motorised screens protect the internal spaces from summer sun and heat. This combined with solar panels achieves a high level of both passive and active solar design and great comfort for the owners.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
